The Band
Here's the band:
Micki - Vocals and KeysWith over 20 years of performing experience, Micki connects with a crowd, but makes you feel like she's singing straight to your heart. From the sultry sounds of Black Velvet to Zeppelin's Rock and Roll, Micki delivers powerful vocals that will in turn make you want to dance the night away and then just let the music wash over you and take you to another place. In addition to vocals, Micki also brings her own style of keys and percussion to the mix. In addition to Curb Appeal, Micki was a founding member of the Seattle Jazz Singers and recorded and played with the band Undone. Micki was born in Kirkland, Washington and still lives on the Eastside with her 'roadie' husband, two children who sometimes think she's weird, a Beardie named Duchess and a Westie named TJ.
Mike - Vocals and GuitarMichael "Dagmar" Olson is a Seattle area native who started playing music in college garage and party bands in Bellingham at Western Washington University in the early 80's. Beginning as a guitarist, he later added bass, keyboards and drums to his skill set. He has been playing in bands off and on for the past thirty years, and is currently holding down lead and rhythm guitar and some keys in the Seattle-based cover band Curb Appeal. His musical tastes range all over the spectrum and his favorite artists include Miles Davis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Frank Zappa, Led Zeppelin, Elton John, The Police, King Crimson, XTC, Talking Heads, The Jam, and The Clash. Mike lives in Woodinville with his wife Grace and two children Nicholas and Haley.
Trap - Vocals and Guitar and percussive devicesIn addition to being a guitarist since 1964, Trap is also a luthier, glass artist, photographer and general all-around "stuff" builder. Born and raised in Reno, NV, he played in youth orchestras and various bands there until he was no longer a youth, then moved to SF Bay area for 15 years and played in various bands there, then moved to Woodinville in 2001 and has continued to frighten small life forms with "Curb Appeal". Ken is a father of two "women", friend to cats, babies and wolves (Truly…they are similar), a lifelong fan of Bettie Page, and wearer of black (I'll quit wearing black when they come up with a darker color) and tie-dye. He wants to have dinner with Satriani, Knopfler and Oldfield, and was once purported to lead a band called "Put That Down Before You Break It".
Kathy - VocalsWith a theme song playing in her head, Kathy enjoys life in surround sound. Dreaming of a place on stage with an awesome rock band led her to Curb Appeal and the chance to work with some crazy talent. Born in Chicago, raised in Colorado and Oregon before settling in Seattle, Kathy grew up listening and singing along to all genres of music including the Doobie Brothers, Eagles, Eric Clapton, Fleetwood Mac, Van Halen and U2 and now a new hometown fav, The Head and the Heart. Kathy has performed in choirs through church and school plus taught parent/child music classes at the local community center. Blissfully married to husband Tom, proud mom of three teens and a Web and Graphic Designer by trade, Kathy loves to create, inspire and sing her heart out.
Rich - DrumsRich "Blackhole Butch" Lund was born in 1944, in a obscure tea merchants shop in Bangkok, Thailand (Hee, hee...Bangkok). Irradiated by high frequency waves used to impart a smokey flavor to his father's special tea, he soon lost the ability to age at anything but a pronouncedly slow rate. As such he has the physical appearance of a man in his 30's. Escaping the notice of most people, he has a second set of invisible arms which he uses, surreptitiously, for various percussion devices. Some have accused him of using recordings in performances, not knowing his dark secret.
Simon- BassAfter many years with the San Francisco synth band Bunusway in the 80s, Simon took a long break from music to discover the origins of nature, play with computers, get married, have a family, mow the lawn... only to return to music much wiser with a greater understand of the fundamental force behind music - The Groove. With the bass in his hands and the drums at his side (and guitars and vocals in there for ambiance), Simon rocks the groove ‘till the cows come home.
